Bride of the Year Charity Event 2013...

Image
Every year we support a wonderful charity event,  a great opportunity for brides to wear their wedding dresses again while raising money for Surf Lifesaving and the St Johns Ambulance. The idea is that the brides enter the event and raise money by selling tickets to family and friends, and an auction is held on the night from goods donated by sponsors and by family and friends. This together with the bridesmaids section and the grooms getting on stage, makes for a wonderful and fun night. This year 18 gorgeous girls entered, they were not only gorgeous, but were supportive and friendly towards each other. The judges had a huge job to pick the winners, we did not envy them their job. The winner received not only sponsors prizes, but also got a trip for her and her husband via a local travel agent. The event is organised by these two lovely ladies, Nicky Taylor and Heather Walden from Designer Flowers here in Pukekohe. They spend months organising and encouraging the girls ...

Finding the best location... Angela

Every now and again we have to take ourselves 'cross country' to find the best spot to take photos. It is always a bonus when the subjects are only to pleased to trek along with you... This is what happened a few days ago when we happened across a field of long grass, it seemed to be the perfect place to take photos of Emma and Lucca, to get to the spot that we wanted we had to cross a disused railway line, and trek through thistles and long grass. We found the ideal spot, with great light and plenty of long grass and very few weeds. The final result was well worth the trek..

Every month at Camera Club we have a set subject and an open category. The set subject is designed to challenge us and get us to try out different ways of using our camera. September's set subject was Macro Photography, an independant judge attends our evening and scores our entries and gives us invaluable feedback designed to help us improve our skills. The scoring is done as follows     Honours                                                      Highly Commended                                                      Merit                                                     ...

Justin...

I knew right from the start that this was going to be a fun shoot with a great young man. Justin loves skateboarding, playing with his scooter, One Direction and any form of sports. I had a chat about what he wanted to do in the shoot, and he wanted to look cool like a 'Skater Boy'  which I thought was very cute.. Check out those cute dimples.  Angela xx

BFF photo session taken at Cornwall Park, Auckland  Welcome to the first of what will be many posts on our Blog.  Clear Light Photography is a mother and daughter team, based in Auckland , New Zealand,  with a love of people and a passion for photography. We are Angela ( Mum)  and Sam ( Daughter) ... Behind our camera's is where we love to be, capturing those 'moments in life' that are so important for you and yours, now and for future generations. Our sessions are fun and relaxing... And we love to use props, either ours or yours... We are hopeless romantics, and being chosen to record a couples 'big day' is a huge honour, and responsibility. From the girls getting ready, to the guys doing their thing we  capture those special moments that are quite often forgotten about until the images are reviewed post wedding.
