Wow, love certainly is in the air with these two. They just adore each other, and are so looking forward to the arrival of their first baby in 2014. Look at al that love.... Lisa was so willing to try different poses.. this black & white  is one of my favourites.                                 We are so looking forward to taking more maternity shots, and of course can't wait until the baby is here......

Llyrikx 5th Birthday..

Image
What a wonderful day we had a few weeks ago when we were asked to take photos of a 5th Birthday Party. This young man wanted fun, family and lots of swimming, and he certainly got that. The weather was perfect, it was the first day of the swimming pool being opened for Summer and Llyrikx and his family made the most of it. This was one of those occasions when you realise why you love capturing special family moments. We were welcomed with open arms by this loving, caring Samoan family. Thanks for letting us share in your celebrations. xx                                                        Llyricks the Birthday Boy and his extended family...                                                                                                           Mum, Dad, GrandDad, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins.... These are just a small sample of the photos that were taken. A wonderful family time captured for them to cherish for years to come.

Bride of the Year Charity Event 2013...

Image
Every year we support a wonderful charity event,  a great opportunity for brides to wear their wedding dresses again while raising money for Surf Lifesaving and the St Johns Ambulance. The idea is that the brides enter the event and raise money by selling tickets to family and friends, and an auction is held on the night from goods donated by sponsors and by family and friends. This together with the bridesmaids section and the grooms getting on stage, makes for a wonderful and fun night. This year 18 gorgeous girls entered, they were not only gorgeous, but were supportive and friendly towards each other. The judges had a huge job to pick the winners, we did not envy them their job. The winner received not only sponsors prizes, but also got a trip for her and her husband via a local travel agent. The event is organised by these two lovely ladies, Nicky Taylor and Heather Walden from Designer Flowers here in Pukekohe. They spend months organising and encouraging the girls to p

Finding the best location... Angela

Every now and again we have to take ourselves 'cross country' to find the best spot to take photos. It is always a bonus when the subjects are only to pleased to trek along with you... This is what happened a few days ago when we happened across a field of long grass, it seemed to be the perfect place to take photos of Emma and Lucca, to get to the spot that we wanted we had to cross a disused railway line, and trek through thistles and long grass. We found the ideal spot, with great light and plenty of long grass and very few weeds. The final result was well worth the trek..

Camera Club Results -Angela

Image
Every month at Camera Club we have a set subject and an open category. The set subject is designed to challenge us and get us to try out different ways of using our camera. September's set subject was Macro Photography, an independant judge attends our evening and scores our entries and gives us invaluable feedback designed to help us improve our skills. The scoring is done as follows     Honours                                                      Highly Commended                                                      Merit                                                      Entry Level The judging is done on competition standards and is quite daunting when your image is up on the stand being scrutinised. My entries for September were Macro Section- black & white image of a cobweb, taken very early in the morning with raindrops hanging off it creating 'Natures Necklace'     Gained Honours Calendula Flower with baby snail gained Merit - Judges comment was that

Justin...

I knew right from the start that this was going to be a fun shoot with a great young man. Justin loves skateboarding, playing with his scooter, One Direction and any form of sports. I had a chat about what he wanted to do in the shoot, and he wanted to look cool like a 'Skater Boy'  which I thought was very cute.. Check out those cute dimples.  Angela xx
